June Meeting - June 29, 2010

Our educational session this month will be on energy audits, building performance and thermal imaging/scanning. This presentation will be by our own Rob Novak of Mr. Home Inspector IA in Cedar Rapids. Energy conservation and governmental energy conservation policies may very well have an impact on our business in the near future. Rob will explain what constitutes an energy audit as well as the proper procedures and equipment necessary to perform a certified audit. This is sure to be an informative evening, covering a topic that is fast becoming an add-on product in the inspection industry.

Rob Novak started Mr. Home Inspector IA approximately one year ago. Prior to property inspections, Rob worked in the mechanical contracting trades for 19 years as a co-owner of Novak Heating and Air Conditioning in Cedar Rapids, a 70 year old, family-owned business. Rob is a RESNET certified energy auditor, as well as holding two certifications from the Building Performance Institute (BPI). Those certifications are as a Building Analyst Professional and a Building Envelope Professional. He is the only person in an approximate 200 mile radius to hold all three building performance certifications.
